This document describes the Nexus Insights (NI) Practice Lab exercises.

Audience

This document is intended for use by attendees of the Cisco Live who are taking the ACI Nexus Insights (NI) Practice Lab (LABDCN-2215).

Scope

The scope of this document is to guide attendees of Cisco Live ACI Nexus Insights (NI) Practice Lab (LABDCN-2215)..

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this lab, you will be able to:

  • Get familiar with the Cisco Nexus Insights (NI) application
  • Check for abnormality in your application
  • Use NI as tool for troubleshooting and flow analyses

NI is an application GUI based and is integrated as a plugin into the Cisco ACI APIC controller and Cisco DCNM GUI. In this lab environment we are going to use it for analytics of the ACI infrastructure. NI will help administrator’s in there day to day activities and relevant to the task at hand, such as troubleshooting, monitoring, auditing, planning…

Disclaimer

This training document is to familiarize with NI used in ACI environment. In the lab focus is just on NI application and in the beginning of the guide we are explaining the pre-request which were created in advance. Although the lab design and configuration examples could be used as a reference, it’s not a real design, thus not all recommended features are used, or enabled optimally. For the design related questions please contact your representative at Cisco, or a Cisco partner.

Note

This is lab is based on Nexus Dashboard and Nexus Insight data simulator. Environment errors are generated and simulated based on real case examples from day-to-day activities of CX engineers. Due to this some of the alarms are generated by the simulator so you can have experience how it will be shown in your real environment
